How do I go about apologising to a woman I freaked out in French lessons 4 years ago?

Posted by admin on July 24th, 2010 and filed under french lessons | 2 Comments »

Coincidentally, we both enrolled at uni (first year) in 2005.
& may have even had studied 2 of the same first year units
but before withdrawing from uni at end of 2006,
I didn’t want to disturb/interrupt her from studies, and although at times on uni campus and in town she makes eye contact/looks at me more due to wanting to be aware/on guard of surroundings and personal space I haven’t gone right up to her though have been in vicinities passing by or studying but I am uneasy, reluctant and apprehensive to go right up to her within the closer of personal space zones to apologise/try give her a apology/declaration of non harm on paper to formally express my discomfort & unpleasantness to have caused her any grievances which she I assume she probably feels (unless I’m paranoid) unsafe, uncomfortable when I’m around/about. This paper I put together has info on self defence for women genuine references & contacts & apology incl. acknowledging recognising her rights to feel safe comfortable
When I found out I was in the same Philosophy 1B Tutorial as her in first year (2nd semester), I refused to go the tutorials.
Some weeks later when I told the tutor, she urged me to go by which time I was shuffling my timetable to sit in at tutorials at other times so as to avoid this woman. I couldn’t simply change to another tutorial as they were all full from the 1st week of semester. I didn’t want to disadvantage other students, I sat in other tutorials, trying to be mindful each tutorial had a maximum number of 18 students.
I think it may have been due to some stupid comment I wrote down on a note at the time, which I read somewhere online at an earlier stage made by teenage girls about how the French word for swimming pool has a kind of similarity in spelling if not pronounciation to a word in English. Suffice to say apart from this one bad choice of judgement, action I made, I am usually a mature bloke.

Wow, you must have really done a number on her. There is the possibility that you didn’t bother her as much as you think. However, I would say just walk up to her say sorry about what I did, and this is for you and hand her the note. Then leave her alone as you have been doing.

I can choose either the classroom version or their online program. It doesn’t really matter if there’s a cost difference because my company will pay for it either way…has to be Berlitz though.

is there a way I can get french lessons onto my ipod?

Posted by admin on July 15th, 2010 and filed under french lessons | 2 Comments »

anybody know where I could find free french lessons online to download to my ipod?

Most good language programs are not going to be free but there are a large number of decent language podcasts available for free that you might want to try out; there are quite a few available for French.
