I want to get something that says i can speak french, like a school certificate or something like that but not by taking a class because i know french already a test or a questionnaire would be good. Does anyone knows where can i do that? I live in Los Angeles!
I’m in the UK, but it will be similar over there.
I’d suggest that you ring local schools and colleges to see if they have any exams scheduled, and if you could pay to take one. Maybe a night class might give out a certificate too?
It depends what you want to do with it. I run a translation agency, and if you want to do it as a profession, then there are bodies that translators and interpreters can be examined by and join for a fee, then they are recognised by businesses like myself and given paid work to do.
If you are serious, then try the American Translators Association, I’ve given the website below:
I bought Tell me more french course and i want to ask anyone who has studied it what instructions he used. I know that the course comes with instructions, but I’m a little confused and I want to study well. Thank you.
You should study in the Guided Mode, to begin. The disc that says "Introductory Level – Start Here" is Guided Mode by default, and you don’t have a choice. The main disc, "Francais", will offer you three mode choices, and you should choose Guided then too, in the beginning.
In the top right hand corner of nearly every screen, there is a ?, and if you click it, you’ll get two help prompts. The first will give you instructions on how to complete whatever the exercise is that you’re in, the second will tell you what each on-screen button is, what it does, and where it will take you if you click it. Basically, the rule in the Guided Mode is to work the exercise until it is complete, and you’ll know it’s complete because something on-screen will begin to blink (however, the default setting is set at 50% completion, so you should change that in Options >> Mode Options). Click on whatever is blinking, and you’ll be moved on to the next exercise. Use the translation tools, the audio glossary, and the conjugation tool liberally. That’s not discouraged, as in other immersion programs, and I couldn’t get along without them.
Many of my family members are allergic to all dairy products and i wanted to make french toast. Could anyone give me in depth instructions on how to make it? Please include exact measurements. Thanks!
Water or soya beverage, vanilla is my favourite, a touch of sugar, honey or maple syrup and then just proceed like you would with a milk based batter.
Coincidentally, we both enrolled at uni (first year) in 2005.
& may have even had studied 2 of the same first year units
but before withdrawing from uni at end of 2006,
I didn’t want to disturb/interrupt her from studies, and although at times on uni campus and in town she makes eye contact/looks at me more due to wanting to be aware/on guard of surroundings and personal space I haven’t gone right up to her though have been in vicinities passing by or studying but I am uneasy, reluctant and apprehensive to go right up to her within the closer of personal space zones to apologise/try give her a apology/declaration of non harm on paper to formally express my discomfort & unpleasantness to have caused her any grievances which she I assume she probably feels (unless I’m paranoid) unsafe, uncomfortable when I’m around/about. This paper I put together has info on self defence for women genuine references & contacts & apology incl. acknowledging recognising her rights to feel safe comfortable
When I found out I was in the same Philosophy 1B Tutorial as her in first year (2nd semester), I refused to go the tutorials.
Some weeks later when I told the tutor, she urged me to go by which time I was shuffling my timetable to sit in at tutorials at other times so as to avoid this woman. I couldn’t simply change to another tutorial as they were all full from the 1st week of semester. I didn’t want to disadvantage other students, I sat in other tutorials, trying to be mindful each tutorial had a maximum number of 18 students.
I think it may have been due to some stupid comment I wrote down on a note at the time, which I read somewhere online at an earlier stage made by teenage girls about how the French word for swimming pool has a kind of similarity in spelling if not pronounciation to a word in English. Suffice to say apart from this one bad choice of judgement, action I made, I am usually a mature bloke.
Wow, you must have really done a number on her. There is the possibility that you didn’t bother her as much as you think. However, I would say just walk up to her say sorry about what I did, and this is for you and hand her the note. Then leave her alone as you have been doing.
